Stanton has power for days. Whatever ball park he plays in, he's banging out 35+ homers in a healthy year from here on out.

Harold Reynolds just tried to justify Verlander giving up 8 runs as a good thing for the Tigers that helped put them in a position to win

And right after takes a little jab at Cueto for giving up 2 runs through 6.

Kris Medlen has been an animal since becoming a starter.

In 6 starts:

40.2 IP, 31 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 BB, 38 SO, 0.67 ERA, 0.89 WHIP

He pitched an 8 inning shutout tonight and extended his scoreless innings streak to 29 innings.

the Slinging A's have been on fire lately;
22 scoreless innings
11 H
4 BB
19 K

I know they haven't been playing great offenses but it is impressive nevertheless.

Votto expected back this week for the Reds on Saturday. Right now he's doing his rehab assignment, if that goes well he's got the green light Saturday. Reds right now have the best record in the majors and they've not had their MVP for over a month now.

Dropping games to the Royals/Twins is why this team will not make the postseason.

Questions for you
  • Who is/was the better prospect: Buckel now or Erlin when he was traded last year?
  • Do you expect Cruz to get a multi-year extension before heading to arb a final time, off a base 10mm?
  • Would you pay a price of Grimm, Garcia and Andrus for Upton?

I honestly wouldn't trade Andrus for anyone atm. Some people just throw his name around, but no one can really be %100 sure how Jurickson is going to turn out.

How do you handle Profar going forward? He's all but finished with the Texas League, and I can't see the Rangers stashing him in the PCL for the bulk of 2013. Adding him and Upton for 2013 could offset the possible loss of Hamilton and Cruz in free agency without adding much salary.

I don't think think we will let Hamilton walk this offseason. When your contending for a title, having good players isnt enough. You need someone who always has the ability to come up with something big. Someone with a x factor, ya know? Plus we don't need Upton enough if Josh leaves, since Gentry is a very good defensive outfielder. Maybe we would need to replace his bat, but Upton isn't going to do that. As far as Jurickson goes, I think this September he will get an opportunity so show what he has, so its too early to make a decision on that.

If JD bet correctly, Hamilton won't find anything better than 2-3 years with some kind of option in free agency. That's an affordable risk, and I'd favor him to stay in Texas if that's how it plays out. However, history suggests there will be one team who goes temporarily insane this winter (Pujols - Angels, Prince - Detroit, Werth - Washington, Zito - San Francisco, Soriano - Cubs)

Joe Mauer cleared waivers, teams could attempt to trade for him if they wanted to.

He is going to make 23 million a year until 2018, Dodgers interested?
