Hanley had a helluva game, nothing like a series against Houston to get the man on fire. Four hits, 1 HR and 2 RBI. Made a couple really bad decisions on defense, but definitely learned his lesson on how to handle those situations if they come up again.

Really, the Marlins may have won the series but they have made some seriously boneheaded decisions and plays that will make it a very long season if it continues, especially against better teams.

Rays manage to win the final game against Boston, 1-0.

I wonder how many games in MLB history have ended with a 1-0 score and the lone run coming on a bases loaded walk?

I'm ready for this month to be over. Rays got screwed with their schedule this month. They play(ed) NYY, DET, BOS, TOR, MIN, LAA, TEX. Aside from Minnesota, each team is a serious playoff contender. Eight straight day games. 10-game road trip. I bet that's the toughest opening-month schedule in the majors this year. If they come out of this first month at or slightly above .500, I'll be thrilled.

Yankees are playing the same exact teams except the Orioles instead of Blue Jays.

The Pirates have faced a pretty ridiculous lineup of pitchers and had a West Coast roadtrip that they are still on.

True. I didn't notice that. Toronto>>Baltimore though And they're not playing 10 straight road games with 8 straight day games, are they?

Day games suck. Thankfully today was the last one for a few days.

Looks like there was some "awesome" umpiring in that TB-Bos game. Look at the last at-bat:

Ah, the moronic "human element" of baseball. We should commend Cody Ross for not taking his bat and breaking it over the ump's skull.

RT @ESPNStatsInfo: Today's Red Sox-Rays game was the first since May 1, 2009 (LAD vs SD) where the only run of the game scored on a bases-loaded walk.

They have to be trading or letting Lincecum walk now. Cain and Bumgarner is a good front end to your rotation and Lincecum is looking like a risky long-term bet that is going to cost a HELL of a lot.
