Can't believe STL came back. I stopped watching when it was, I think, 6-0. Wow.

Go Yanks.

I didn't get to see much of the Nats/Cards game, but man what an epic collapse. 3/4 division series game five's have a team leading 6-0 and the Cards of course are the only team that were able to come back and win it.

I think the Giants are the favorites in their series, but I'm leaning towards calling it more of a tossup. Bumgarner has just looked tired in his past few starts, Vogelsong has been solid but did show signs of regression as the season dwindled down, and you never know what you're going to get from Zito/Timmy this year. Add in that the Giants bats are by far better on the road than at home (obvious) gives the Cards a very good chance at winning.

The Yadier/Buster catcher's matchup should be fun to watch.

Defensively, Buster is good, but still a decent amount behind the best at his position. Also you don't think that playing around 20% of his games at 1B doesn't take away some of that value?

I see no flaws in his defensive game. I think he's an elite defensive catcher, regardless of how many stolen bases he gives up (stolen bases are a combination of things, pitchers have a lot to do with this as well)

His offense from the position is second to none. Look at his second half split to show you what he's capable of, it's crazy.

You'd be wrong if you think he's an elite catcher. He doesn't do anything bad really, but he doesn't have anything that's eltie on the Molina level. That's an elite defensive catcher. He's also not elite enough to be on the level of Mike Trout value when he doesn't even play 20-25% of his games at his primary position and two of his starting pitchers (Timmy, Zito) felt more comfortable with Sanchez at the plate.

Isn't he only playing at first so much this year so he rests his ankle? Similar to the Joe Mauer situation? Or am I completely wrong?

Yes and no. They did want to relieve him at catcher to help alleviate some of the pain from his collision last year, but plain and simple Zito felt more comfortable with Sanchez behind the dish, which is why he caught a vast majority of his starts. It made fans frustrated because when Belt was hot and the Dodgers were close, Bochy had to mess around with the lineup sometimes having to take a hot bat out because Zito couldn't throw to Posey.

I don't know if that trend will continue or not, I'm not saying Posey can't get to Trout's value level but based on this one season where he didn't play a quarter of his team's games at catcher its hard to try to put him up on that level.

Bases loaded and two outs, but the crowd doesn't seem that loud at all. Is that normal?

Damn A-Rod can't catch a break. Solid contact only to have a close call on the force at second. Didn't show a good enough replay yet for me to know if it was a good or bad call.
