To lose your Rookie status, you have to have 130+ AB's in the season you debut. Last season Trout only had 123 AB's, so he was still considered a rookie this year.

Detroit up 2-0 and Verlander going game 3. I really can't see them blowing the lead. Just to get the series back to NY, the Yanks have to win at least 2 out of 3 in Detroit. The Yankees for the longest time have counted on come from behind wins. That barely worked against Baltimore, but you can't expect to do that for an entire postseason.

When the hell did the Tigers get good defensively? They've been solid so far, I really thought their lack of D would bite them in the ass.

I also got Detroit vs St. Loueey WS.

Yanks have been held scoreless in 20 of 21 innings against the Tigers. Justin Verlander isn't going to help there chances of improving. Tigers taking that 3-0 lead

Easy to look good on defense when the ball is never in play. A's and Yanks striking out like crazy.

In Nick Swisher's postseason career he's put up .167/.284/.300 with 4 HR and 7 RBI in 150 at bats.

That's true but Peralta and co. are making defensive plays.

Yeah they're hitting it to the right places (Peralta, Infante, Jackson), but if you strike out less, the chance you put the ball in play to Miggy, Dirks, etc goes way up.

Being strong up the middle (SS, CF, 2B, C) is generally enough. That's why there is so much value in those positions.

Jackson was probably one of the most underrated players this year.

Here's my beef. The first game I agree that was definitely a game changing call because they would have not only scored but still had the bases loaded. So that I get.

But last night's call in no way shape or form changes the ultimate outcome. The Yankees still wouldn't have scored. And the Tigers still would have won by one. Does it have a psychological effect? Maybe. But the Yankees came back by 4 the game before anyways.
