But last night's call in no way shape or form changes the ultimate outcome. The Yankees still wouldn't have scored. And the Tigers still would have won by one. Does it have a psychological effect? Maybe. But the Yankees came back by 4 the game before anyways.

Like I said, I don't think the Yankees win either game, but it's still throwing salt on the wound. The system sucks and needs to be changed.

Boo change. I'm only for it, if you only get x amount of chances to overthrow an ump's calls per game. like three. Anymore than that and you're turning a 3-4 hour game into a 4-5 hour game, given how some managers are about calls.

I've read about some people suggesting that there's an extra person in a booth that signals to the umps whenever a play should be reviewed, then they go review it and make a judgement. Sounds simple and fair enough to me.

Just enforce the time between pitches rule, and only allow a batter to step out once an ab.

Baseball don't need replay, due to game extension. But you have all these umpire huddling together and manager coming out. Makes no sense.

Seriously, when MLB introduced the very limited replay they have now people were complaining about making the game longer but its had virtually no impact. There may be a slight impact once its expanded but I doubt it'll be highly noticeable compared to the 5 minutes managers spend arguing controversial calls.

I also think that the length of the game is overstated in the first place. Generally the TV time spent on baseball games comes relatively close to that of football which can be ~3 hours. Yeah sometimes when the Sox/Yanks play it goes to 4 hours but that tends to not be the norm I think.

A-Rod and Swisher are both out of the line up. Nunez and Gardner in. Gardner hasn't played since April.

That seems kinda insane given how shitty of a hitter Nunez is against righties. This seems like throwing shit against a wall and hoping something sticks. But it's Girardi who I think is an awful manager. He's the only manager that I've seen give out multiple intentional walks before the 5th inning of a game.

It might work but it's the wrong move IMO. Stick with the clearly more talented hitters even if they are slumping.

Eh, I disagree completely. Just because Swish and Rodriguez are undoubtedly more talented and capable hitters really doesn't mean much right now, for a couple reasons: A, you don't have time to let guys battle their way out of slumps in the postseason, and B, you don't have to time ESPECIALLY when their confidence is at an all-time low. It doesn't matter how good of a hitter you are, if you think you're struggling, you're struggling. If you think you aren't seeing the ball right, you aren't seeing the ball right. Inserting guys that may be inferior talent-wise but feel good at the plate could absolutely benefit them. Baseball is a mind game, and it's obvious that Swisher and Rodriguez are seriously doubting themselves right now.
