Players were dressed and leaving long before crowd told game was cancelled. Nice of baseball to be so courteous.

Also, the 1-8 record in clinching games really stands out.

I didn't agree with his decision to start Mike Leake in game 4, I felt he left Latos in too long in game 5, and I hated seeing guys like Frazier/Heisey rot on the bench, while Rolen/Stubbs took the playing time at those respective positions. Overall, it was obvious that Bochy worked him over.

I realize it's not all HIS fault they fell apart, but someone needed to pay for what happened. Division titles have to stop be "good enough" at some point.
I was expected there to be a change in Cinci as well, not just for the reasons above but the guy just had a stroke. Seems like he should start to live life without the stresses of baseball managing now.

Didn't think I'd see the day but the Yankees might be in seriously bad shape salary-wise if the reports of them not willing to pay luxury tax are true. You always just assume their ownership will spend regardless. The luxury tax threshold was at $178 million this year.

For next year:
ARod - $28 mil
Tex - $22.5 mil
CC - $22 mil
Jeter - $17 mil
Cano - $15 mil team option (obviously will be picked up)
Soriano - $14 mil (what the fucking shit?!?)
Granderson - $13 mil team option (should be picked up too)

Then if Rivera comes back for another year, you assume he's getting somewhere between $10-14 million.

CC, Cano and Granderson are good values but the rest? That's a shit-ton of money committed to declining players who no one will take off your hands.

The Yankees do know how to score!

It's kind of amazing that Derek Lowe is still allowed to pitch in the majors.

Giants are making some moves with their lineup since some are struggling and Timmy is pitching.

Sanchez will be catching, Posey at 1B, Pence being dropped to sixth in the order and obviously Belt is out with Posey moving over. Posey/Pablo are switching the 3/4 spots.

Seems like a steep "price" to pay just to get Posey to 1B. Belt is a way better hitter than Sanchez.

Yeah it kind of draws back to the back and forth I had with Carbine a few days ago. Bochy wants Timmy to be comfortable so he plays the catcher that Timmy is more comfortable with. Belt has been struggling at the plate too, but I'd still much rather have his bat in the lineup. It's been frustrating Giants fans all year.

Of course its too early to say for sure, but A-Rod has said he will not waive his no trade clause. Yankees fans riot.

I think he said he'd waive it for the Marlins, but nobody else.

Their salary cap goal is under $189m by 2014. If they get under that number in 2014, it resets their tax from about $40m to about $14, and then they would go back to spending like drunken sailors.

If things stay this way then it looks like the fate of the Giants rests in the hands of Barry Zito.
