After having the worst batting averages and just being awful at bad and being offensively challenged, and having the fielders do some good stuff at getting the ball, we've done well to embarrass the Cards.

I don't think the Cards fan have anything on Yankees, Lakers or Steeler fans though. Granted, the bias in the media can be annoying, but it could be worse.

Right, I just said I think only Yankees fans may be worse in terms of arrogance and entitlement than Cardinals fans, in baseball. And that could just be relative to where I live. I'm from and live in Northwest Arkansas which is a short drive to the Missouri border. I grew up a Braves fan where 99% of my friends and acquaintances were Cardinals fans. Their arrogance and general annoyance has worn very thin on me over the years.

Ah okay I get what you're saying. In that note, I had a teacher who is a huge Laker fan and some kid told him that they sucked, and he used the "15 rings" argument.

Goddamn I hate when "fans" do that.

Well if anyone can play terrible enough defense to bail the Giants out it certainly is the Tigers. I'll be pulling for Detroit, though. I would like to see Anibal and Omar do well. Anibal usually pitches very well against SF.

Not a surprise, they've been looking for replacements for about a month. I'm just surprised through all the shit this organization has been through (manager changes, player changes, etc.) that the front office that makes these decisions remains intact.

It relates to what Ozzie said last month (I think) that got Loria pissed off. If you're constantly going through all these managers there comes a point when you have to look yourself in the mirror.

Also, I believe the players had Ozzie's back so I'm sure some are angry about the firing. Hell he just got back from a trip all over Europe with Stanton, Nolasco, and a couple others I believe.

Nolasco already tweeted something along the lines of "You gotta be fucking shittin me." It has since been deleted.

I feel really confident in this.

Thank you Cardinals for choking, so they had to use Cain in game 7.

I want the Giants to win but the Tigers should take this easily. If you put a gun to my head, I'd say Tigers in 5.

This will probably get lost in the World Series talk, but came across this on a Braves board, and I know we've got some Pirates fans on here that probably aren't too happy about this and never have been.

http://triblive.com/sports/2819385-7...#axzz2ADOMCD9l

Quote:
Gregory Polanco is one of the Pirates’ top five prospects. He’s a 21-year-old, 6-foot-4 outfielder who was named Most Outstanding Prospect in the Single-A South Atlantic League after batting .325 with 16 home runs, 85 RBI and 40 steals for West Virginia. The kid can do it all, but that apparently isn't enough.

Polanco’s ankle was sprained in mid-August, and it cost him most of his final month of play. But the Pirates still saw fit to have him participate in that first day with the SEALS last month, and as you might guess, the ankle was reinjured. Worse than before.

It happened during a drill in which Polanco sprinted across the outfield, through an above-ground pool of ice water, then leaped into a sand pit.
