The White Sox have signed Jake Peavy to a 2 year/29 million dollar extension.

The White Sox also declined the options for Kevin Youkilis and Brett Myers, and exercised their 9.5 million dollar option on Gavin Floyd.

- Did Adam Jones just seriously beat out Mike Trout for a Gold Glove? You can't even use the "he's more famous and/or he's a better hitter" rationale that is sometimes stupidly used here. This is the reason why the Gold Gloves are the biggest joke "award" in all of the major pro sports.

- Hardy only beat out Ryan because he's a better hitter. Which should mean a lot in a fielding award. Strange rationale since there was no problem giving Barney it in the NL (deservingly).

- No Michael Bourn? That seems wrong.

Ervin Santana acquired by the Royals, what they gave up is not known yet.

The Angels will receive LHP Brandon Sisk from the Royals for Santana.

Fisk is a 27 year old journey man.

Angels got literally nothing back.

Same might go for Haren, they have until Friday to make a decision about him. Funny that the Angels came into last season as possibly having one of the best rotations in the majors, but going into next season can be without Haren, Geinke, and Santana.

Wonder if Youk would come back to Boston. Could use a 1B for a couple of years.

But I want the Sox to trade for Ike Davis, bring Ross and Ortiz back and then get Hunter for a 2 year deal. That would put a decent to good bat at every position besides SS, and I think Lester and Buchholz should be a lot better. Doubront is alright, Lackey as a 4/5 would be better than nothing (or maybe not) and then maybe find a low risk/high potential starter or let De La Rosa have a real shot.
