The Angels will receive LHP Brandon Sisk from the Royals for Santana.
Fisk is a 27 year old journey man.
Angels got literally nothing back.
Scioscia getting his way. He wants a bullpen to burn the shit out of the way he used K-rod and Shields for 2+ innnigs creating saves for Percival. Dude only knows one way to win. Never mind those relievers like Shields and K-Rod were rare, having 2 of them at the same time even more. They're still trying to make some ace bullpen over there.

But I want the Sox to trade for Ike Davis, bring Ross and Ortiz back and then get Hunter for a 2 year deal. That would put a decent to good bat at every position besides SS, and I think Lester and Buchholz should be a lot better. Doubront is alright, Lackey as a 4/5 would be better than nothing (or maybe not) and then maybe find a low risk/high potential starter or let De La Rosa have a real shot.
Wouldn't it be easier/better to sign Napoli instead? Victor took 4/50 from the Tigers. That's a1B/DH player better than Youk's corpse.

Add in Hunter, that is 55+ million dollars.
Starting pitching is expensive anyway. Their value was tied into short term deals. If it goes wrong, it's not a catastrophe. The Angels problem is holding onto shit like Bourjos too long. Other teams will pay for defense at positions like CF, SS, C. They can replace him with a cheap minor league free agent. What the hell is the point of saving him on a roster with 3 better/more expensive OF blocking him on the roster? Use him to free up cash or get a better 3b. Either would be more valuable than a 4th OF with awesome defense.
I think the Mariners are going to sign Josh Hamilton.
that is somewhat typical for the Mariners, they don't really care about the product they put out there as long as they make $$$. With attendance becoming an I can see why they would want to sign a big name, but it definitely would eat into their profit margins.
I guess this trade is not happening, the Cubs backed out of the trade.
I can't imagine how the Cubs front office looks when they start making deals. Seem like an unsure bunch seeing as how the trade fell through with Atlanta and Dempster too.
Trevor Bauer rumored on the trading block. Ploy to make him fall in line or has his value really dropped this far?
