Trumbo is (should be) trade bait. Beyond a flukey beginning to last year, he's not that good and they don't really have room for him. I doubt his value ever gets any higher.
WOW! I didn't see how badly Trumbo fell off the second half. I thought he ended the year hitting somewhere around .300. Rumors floating around Dickey for Trumbo (or Bourjos) and I thought it was ludicrous, but after seeing second half stats for Trumbo, maybe not as much...
Bourjos would be the real get for some team. The Angels are totally wasting his value by keeping him. Almost his entire value comes from being arguably a top 3 defensive CF in the league. It just happens the Angels have another one who is a monster hitter as well.
This Hamilton moves makes little to no sense. I understand they got him for a very reasonable price but come on they of all teams should know pitching is the key (which was a disaster for them last season). Unless they pull off a big trade for a pitcher like a Lee, Lincecum, Lester or Dickey they will be a quick out in the playoffs or dare I say miss the playoffs.. again.
Interesting. 5 years is a bit much for a pitcher but that's what it probably took to get him to the Cubs. That might end up being a decent value. I'm glad he's back in the NL and not going to any of the big AL teams.
I'm reading that he's giving the Tigers a chance to match so its not official yet.
I can't see the Tigers doing that given the extensions due to Scherzer soon (and Verlander in two years), and I'm fairly certain Fister is in the same two year window as well, not entirely sure though.
