Sucks that he got the L but Bedard looked awesome. I wasn't expecting much offense against Halladay.

Freaking sucks we couldn't manage even one run after Santana left in the 6th. I'm getting so tired of the Braves offense being shit. There's too much talent and potential in the lineup to be a 3.5 runs per game team. First game of the season and already a 1-0 loss. I was joping we could keep the 3-0, 2-0, 1-0 type losses around 10-12 this year. Not off to a good start.

Thank you for sending the Red Sox off to a losing start to the season, Tigers.

Now, go Indians. (I like the Blue Jays and where they're headed, but with them being a division rival, I can't really pull for them)

Man I know its only the first two games of the season, but the Marlins offense is just ugly right now. Really impatient by swinging at the first pitch, yesterday it looked like all Hanley tried to do was hit a HR, him and Stanton 0-14 I think so far. I expect it to step up, but its frustrating as hell.

I'm reading that the Reds are close to locking up Phillips too. That would be something if they can sign Votto to that contract and still manage to keep Phillips, especially since everything out there has been saying the Reds are only offering 4 years.

Jays put up 3 in the 9th off Perez to tie it.

I know it's opening day and all, but Masterson only threw 99 pitches and was not slowing down one bit.

Tim Welke's strike zone is ridiculously wide.

But but but but it was a save situation! MLB rules dictate that you must put in the pitcher that has been deemed the "closer" into the game if you're up by 3 runs or less!

This same silly thinking is also causing the Jays to not use Santos right now.

Always thought it was silly as well. Saves are one of the most pointless stats in baseball.

We'll take it though. Lawrie is due for a hit this inning.

I think the fact there are no more relievers after Santos is what was causing them not to use Santos in that position. Drabek and Alvarez aren't available, and Carreno threw a side session yesterday. The only guy left would be Morrow.

Gotta hope Perez can get you through the rest until you absolutely need Santos.

Davis just screwed up. I can understand the guys on base hesitating to run when a bunt gets popped up, but Davis should have been hauling ass as soon as he made contact.
