The critics are saying what we thought this movie would be: overdone, not fun, pointless, and humorless....that's how the previews make it look. They always take what made the movies fun from the 80s and 90s, and take it away for overblown action and seriousness. I never understand that.
I wonder if Benny is in this one. He has FIVE kids to feed.

exactly right, thats why its pointless to keep remaking these films. what they need to do is make more films in the tone of those 80's/90's films. not copy the story lines pointlessly.

because movie companies know that there is still an audience(80-90's action movie fans) out there who is going to watch it.
I wonder when would they start remaking Seagal or Van Damme movies

If they do remake ALF, it will be a much more SERIOUS ALF, who has super powers, broods a lot, is a billionaire, and has to save the planet from evil cats.
Oh look, a Hollywood 80s movie or TV remake. Shocking.

Sony Developing ‘ALF’ Movie From ‘Smurfs’ Producer & Paul Fusco
Hollywood is continuing to plunder the casket of cherished 1980s franchises for movie ideas, following the box office success (and mixed critical response) for 21st Century takes on Transformers, G.I.
