pippen didn't dominate the ball. neither did Kidd or Dirk.

Those PJax teams ran the triangle, no one dominated the ball the way a PG in a traditional system does. Don't think Kidd/Dirk hold on to the ball that long. Manu does create but usually comes off the bench, and even when he doesn't it's Parker who orchestrates the offense.

True but if two players are taking that many shots each(Shaq & Kobe), then I'd consider them a ball dominant duo. It's not like they were both spot up shooting their way to 25-30 points each every night.

Don't think dominating the ball has to do with the number of shots you take. If that's your definition then alright, but I'm talking about holding on to the ball for much of the possession. I can tell you that Shaq certainly didn't do that.
