Injuries held them back. But in the same regard, that's what's been holding the Warriors back.
There was like a 2 month stretch right before Ellis was traded where the roster was for the most part fully healthy for any significant period of time. They were like .500 during that stretch and playing some really solid ball beating some nice teams (including the Clippers twice) with a number of other really close losses. .500 ball is not stellar by any means but definitely closer to the type of ball they were expected to be playing at and definitely better than the level they had been playing for the past cumulative year.
The west is stacked so making a playoff berth will be hard but "if" healthy, very plausible. They even look to have found a decent PG back-up, which has been an issue for the longest time, in Jenkins.
