Better start preparing for your doctorate now then. 8 more years of school at least.

Pick a real major dude, like Engineering, Math or a difficult science like Chemistry or Physics.

The days where any college degree will get you a job are over.

Psychology is a real degree, bro. The problem is that he hasn't thought this through. If he wants to get a job, then he's going to have to get a doctorate or apply to med school and become a psychiatrist.

It really isn't. If you like psychology, learn about it on your own time and apply it to what you do on an every day basis.

To the OP:
Son pick the major you are most interested in and it is with that you will be most successful.

I just need to see where a BA leads me. Like I said I don't qualify for Financial Aid, so it'll be hard. I suck at math hard, so I don't know if I want to go into any other major.

Wanna know where people learn psychology from? They learn it from people who dedicated their lives to psychology as their profession and passion.

What % are these people out of all the people that majored in psychology?

And how much more is there to even learn? How much is just the same repeated BS? A lot of psychology "studies" that I've read are really just common sense.

Ultimately, all the people who are highly successful in life have had a strong interest in what they do. If the kid likes Psychology, that is what he should do.

This is bad advice.

Take it from someone who graduated last December and still can't get a job with an Econ degree and a 3.3 GPA.

If I could go back and do it all over, I'd major in Petroleum Engineering, study my ass off and get as close to a 4.0 as I could and probably have a 6 figure job lined up after I graduate.
