The D"Antoni doghouse was what caught up to him. He was stuborn and didn't try to understand players (Robinson, L Hughes). He was never on top of his players because he went to far with punishments and grudges. He was doing it to team captains (Al Harrington). D'Antoni had no repoire, no vision, and a weak concept of defense. When he had loyal players that would bust their butt for him (Balkman, Wilcox) he cut them.
