Default China's Ghost Cities

WTF China?? stop building already!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPILh...eature=related

Thought this was pretty interesting. Why keep cities when no one is moving in!?!?!? Looks like China's real estate bubble is about to burst (or has already).

These are the cities that China has apparently offered to Japanese that need to be evacuated due to radiation.

Is that official? I can't imagine the China gov't helping out Japan & actually inviting millions of Japanese to live in China.. I thought there would be too much bad blood between both countries.

China can't be stopped. They are on a mission, and they'll control the free market within 20 years. They'll never technically conquer the world, b/c their military power and culture (I mean come on, the average China-man is a panzy with a two inch pecker... no way they're dethroning the US on global supremacy) is too suspect. China will however like I said, control the cash flow at some point, and in many ways they'll 'rule the world' but their power will be limited.

The future is going to be very interesting to say the least.

i would argue the opposite if that were the case. their "inferiority" would be more motivation to take over. when you have everything you end up resting on your laurels. in nearly every gangster movie, the best part is when they are coming up from nothing. once they have everything they get comfortable and then they are destroyed.

With the way our economy is going.. and all these chinese investors taking over all our real estate property.. they'll be owning our land for years.

In the future, everyone will be renting from china owners.

Apparently the radiation is 85x worst than Chernobyl and if Russia doesn't return some land to them needed for evacuation, they will take China up on their offer of moving the people their. China does have plenty of vacancies in need of paying tenants.

China is so huge everything is done on a massive scale, including real estate speculation. Also, there are so many nouveau-riche in China with money burning in their pocket, that they will buy a condo by only looking at a photo.

Eventually these places will fill, but the developers run the risk of their buildings becoming obsolete by the time people are ready to move in.

This is a problem not unique to China, there are many countries in Asia with neighborhoods of empty tower blocks.

Always remember, Western journalists are highly sensational when they talk about China, I have been there many times, and things are generally normal, and people do as they please. There are exceptions, but then again there are 1.4B people, and it is in many areas still a third world country.

Not a huge concern in the grand scheme. Everything good or bad that comes out of China will be 'the likes of which we have never seen' because China is so much bigger than any other country we have ever seen.

Just wait till India gets to this level, same shit all over again.

i just saw this video via another source and remembered there was a thread here about it.

i don't think it's at all a given that these places will be filled. the prices are outrageous, and these places are being built without any regard for practical considerations. the local govts don't actually care much whether these places ever get filled.

and there may be other places in asia like this, but surely none of them are as integral to the world economy and cheap manufacturing as is china. that's a big red flag to me. (NPI)

i don't see india ever getting to this level, either. the directive empowering these cities is coming from the central communist govt, which sets GDP goals for the local govts to follow at all costs. AFAIK, india does not remotely have that kind of structure, nor resources / situation to accomplish it.
