That's just a stupid comment but why would he get fired for it? That's stupid.

Folks in the unemployment line probably won't get as big a kick out of his 'witty' anecdotes Monday morning.

What did he say that was that bad? He didn't say anything racist or really offensive. He was just trying to say that Nike is better than Adidas.

Terrible publicity, particularly now that Yahoo! News has picked up on the story. It'll be all over social media sites before Monday, and a groundswell of people (particularly Chicago fans) will be calling for the guys head.

Again, he didn't really say anything that bad. It would be ridiculous if he lost his job over this. It's not like he called Rose's brother a moron or his mother a whore.

It was a stupid comment but there was absolutely nothing offensive about it.

You're preaching to the converted, dude. I don't think it was a big deal either, but our interpretation of the situation doesn't alter anything. The fact of the matter is we live in an age where insignificant things like this get overblown and, as a result, people suffer from the subsequent fallout.

If something meaningless like this garners enough negative attention, companies who stand to take a ding will do whatever necessary to separate themselves from it.

It's like telling a guy who got hit by a car to check both sides before he crosses the street.

I mean okay, maybe you're right, but thats a shitty thing to say when youre a public figure.

It's not only in bad taste, but it's malicious. Not much to think about. To call him "Pooh", no less, is just cheap.

He shouldn't be fired tho. It's just one of those things where if someone slapped the shit out of him, all would be well.

He doesn't sound evil, just insensitive. He's using Rose's misfortune to promote his shoe brand. And on a side note, it didn't make sense. People wearing Nikes don't get hurt? Really?

indeed. it's just tasteless really. it's like a car company criticizing a guy who was hurt in a car accident to promote their crash safety rating. the guy is already hurt and it just comes off as bad. oh ya, rubio wears nike's so there's that too
