That's what I'm saying. Yea I know it may even look like I'm hating but every time I criticize him, I back it up with why. Bottom line is, he gets this moniker as this prolific defender but when I actually watch the games, I don't see it. He's a below avg rebounder for his height. He's a decent but not great shot blocker. He fouls entirely too much and he shows way too far on pick n rolls. Add that to the fact that he's inept at creating anything for himself offensively, he is poor from the free throw line and he gets untimely technical fouls.
Its amazing how we go from the likes of Billy Walker, Shawne Williams, & Anthony Carter as our "bench depth" to now having the best bench in the NBA with the addition of K-Mart.
Best Bench in the NBA?
#1 Kenyon isn't here yet
#2 Even if we get him, we don't have the best bench in basketball. The Spurs, Pacers, Heat, 76ers, Warriors, Nuggets, Clippers all have better benches than us.
Johnny Flynn is a FA. I honestly think that won't be a bad acquisition considering our depth/skillset at the PG position. We have two aging PG's(Kidd+Pog) and a lazy PG who's constantly out of shape. Flynn is fast and his speed will be a good change of pace compared to the other guys but he's a terrible shooter which means he probably won't mesh with Melo and Amare and he's pretty much a bust at this point.
I think it's a low risk high reward type of signing.
