Default Trade Down Twice?

The RAPS could trade down twice and pick up players on the way...

Raptors Trade...

Alvin Williams or Andre Barret
Loren Woods
#1 Pick

To Portland For...

Jarrett Jack
Brian Skinner
Travis Outlaw
#4 pick

and then...

Raptors Trade....

S&T Mike James
Kris Humphries
#4 Pick
#35 Pick

To Houston for

Stromile Swift
#8 pick
#32 pick

The second trade doesn't make much sense at all, instead of taking the cap space that not re-signing Mike James would give us, we go and trade him for an overpaid power forward, the position where we need the least help, in Stromile Swift. Swift significantly lowers the basketball intelligence level of the team and doesn't really bring anything to the table. Not only that, but in order to do that, we move from the #4 pick where we can get one of the best players in the draft to the #8 pick where by popular belief, it's basically a mess in rating where players should be.

If we're going to move down twice, we have to be acquiring assets, not getting bad contracts from other teams that don't help us in any way. I dislike this idea, unless we actually are moving down and getting good things.

Both Jefferson and Swift make absolutley no sense. Why trade down for more power fowards, the one position where the Raps show some depth?
