I think it's because he's not on the final year of contract, he still has four years left. But I'm not sure.

If stuff wasn't so pointlessly, astronomically expensive (sneakers, Lakers/Heat season tickets), players like Kobe and LeBron couldn't validate earning sums of money that average Americans only dream about.

He's a free agent in the offseason, that was what he was getting paid this season.

The same could be said for any actor that makes $30+ million per movie.

The fact is there is a huge demand to watch basketball played at the highest level, and the supply of people that can do it is extremely small.

I mean look at how many people come to this website every day just to talk about basketball, let alone watch it. We're not posting about what happened at the Rec League at the local YMCA are we?

Bolded are making too much money, imo. I can understand Kevin Garnett was traded from Minny, but goddamn! Is he making too much or what? Dude isn't worth $20mill+/year.

As for Brandon Roy, why is he on the list? The guy retired. He's not getting paid that much now, right? I was under the impression that once he called it quits, that was it. Contract void. No pay. Am I wrong?

Kevin Garnett is certainly worth $20 million. He is a superstar, a defensive beast, helps the team win games, a former MVP, and he puts people in the seats. Moving forward he will not be worth that much, but as of now he certainly is.
