Default Re: What's ESPN's issue with Jeremy Lin? Do they do this to others?

Any organization that continues the employment of guys like Stuart Scott and Chris Berman has legitimacy issues.

Yes, I know who owns ESPN.

What I do want to find out is why you think ESPN is racist, and is "so clearly racist against any NBA players that are not black and have been for years."

I really want to see some solid reasoning to support said statements.

Beware Knicks fans.
Woodson will do to Lin what he did to Teague in Atlanta - not play him, and not let him develop.
He would rather play Davis and Bibby over Lin. He may want to get a Kidd or Nash in New York.
It's better for the Knicks long term to play and develop Lin.
Beware Knicks fans.

What are you complaining about? Before Lin went down he was getting more love then any other athlete in any sport. For awhile you couldn't go a day without hearing 'Linsanity' on Sports Center. You can't expect to get exclusively love from the media. It comes with being an athlete.

Well, duh. Woodson, like most coaches, wants an experienced point guard to run his offense. For all his heroics, Lin cannot yet be said to be an experienced pg.

You think PJax would play Lin more than Woodson would? You're wrong. Neither would Sloan, or any of the old-school coaches.

Secondly, BDiddy is done; finished. He's not coming back. Bibby is on his last legs. The Knicks need a serviceable point guard no matter what. It can't all be on Lin's shoulders, and in any case, his knee might turn out to be a chronic problem. He also might not develop as fast as his fanboys think he can.

So, you can stick your "bewares" where the sun doesn't shine. If the Knicks are smart, they'll extend Woodson so we can see what he can do in a full season.

How is Lin supposed to get experience if he doesn't play?
Lin needs 35-38 mpg next season. He will have some bad stretches, but that's the only way he will get better.
The Knicks have to use the full MLE on him. And hopefully they can draft another pg (don't know if they have their first this year or not).
Otherwise, they will be stuck overpaying someone, like they did when they got Chris Duhon.

Its too early to start assigning minutes. Let's see how his knee is next year, and whether or not he's able to permanently cut down on the turnovers.

I'd recommend playing him between 25 and 30 minutes at the start of the season, just to gauge how he's progressing. The Knicks should sign an experienced point guard to spell Lin, to push him, and to help him learn the position.

Pg is the hardest position on the floor, and pushing a guy out there for major minutes, who's only had part of one year playing the position, would be a mistake.
