it's good to have high expectations but contender status with Amare and Lin?

The Knicks roster is a waste of a team. Actually the Knicks team is a waste of a team, especially in a big market.

If the Knicks didn't get Melo, then Felton would still be the PG, and Linsanity never would have happened. How many times does this need to be said?

We havent seen the peak of that team yet. The team was just starting to beat the top teams like oklahoma, san antonio, bulls when trade rumors started swirling again. Thats the time wilson chandler "the 2nd option" disappeared which began the losing streak. Amare can exist with any pg. We couldve cp3 instead.

Amare can turn a team into a contender. In fact last season team could become contenders but the teams run got cut short coz melo rumors started swirling which made chandler our 2nd leading scorer to disappear.

I think the Knicks need 1.) a training camp together to try and build some chemistry and 2.) some pieces to compliment Amar'e and Melo. Chandler was a great starting point. A true point guard would help (I hope Jeremy Lin is ready to put some SERIOUS work in this offseason to improve his game, because he could be it). They also need a coach who isn't interested in Melo Ball and will instill a work ethic and discipline into these players.

They need offensive schemes. They need to run pick and roll...run guys on the baseline. And for Christ's sakes, hire a defensive-minded assistant who will teach these guys something other than zone.

Also...JR Smith needs to be made a ritual sacrifice to the Basketball Gods. Couldn't hurt, I think.

training camp is just an excuse. Melo would never play off the ball coz he sucks at it. Thats the only way he scores to the detriment of the team. Getting rid of melo would really be addition by subtraction. I would love to trade melo for ray allen despite his age coz allen plays the right way. Players like allen, durant, miller play the right way thats why these guys are more successful than melo career wise. And amare plays the same with them thats hes so successful until melo came. Hes been deferring when he should be the 1st option.

The hate for Thibs has to stop, the guy has been the best coach in the league for two years... Yes, defense lead to injuries, but run and gun leads to extended minutes from starters, which equals fatigue in the long term, look at the suns.

Also you were doomed as a running team the moment you signed Chandler... IMO, i find pretty awkward for a team to go run and gun with an Amare/Chandler comb on the paint.

IMO, the perfect running team would be with Amare as the center and an athletic SF playing PF.
