Is Dzeko gone to Bayern? His official facebook page says that City and Bayern agreed to a deal.

Looks like it's all but done. Thanks to Dzeko for helping us win the PL this year. His key goals won't be forgotten. All the best at Bayern.

Brazil's likely lineup against the US tomorrow:
Jefferson
Dani Alves - Silva - Juan - Marcelo
Ganso - Sandro - Lucas
Hulk - Pato - Neymar

We'll probably go with:
Howard
Cherundolo - Onyewu - Bocanegra - Johnson
Donovan - Bradley - Jones - Torres
Altidore - Gomez

Oh lawd, this could get ugly. It'd be great if Dempsey is good to go.

On paper, Brazil makes one drool. Things haven't run very smoothly for them entering big tournaments recently though, so it will be interesting to see where they stand in two years.

Italians strike again
Quote:
Italy’s hopes of winning a second UEFA European Football Championship suffered a major setback on Monday, when first-choice left back Domenico Criscito was left out of the Azzurri’s Euro 2012 squad after Italian police searched his room at Coverciano in connection with the Scommessopoli scandal.

Criscito was one of seven players cut by Azzurri boss Cesare Prandelli ahead of Italy’s international friendly with against Luxembourg, with Emiliano Viviano, Davide Astori, Salvatore Bocchetti, Luca Cigarini, Ezequiel Schelotto and Marco Verratti also getting the ax.

However, Criscito was the only player omitted as a result of the Scommessopoli scandal.

With that said, the drama surrounding Italy’s Euro 2012 campaign does not end there.

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, who is also being investigated for his connections with the Scommessopoli scandal, has been included in Italy’s Euro 2012 by manager Cesare Prandelli.

Bonucci was featured in 33 games for Serie A champions Juve, who went the entire league campaign without defeat in 2011-12.

The 25-year-old defender started two matches for Italy in European Championship Qualifying, with the Azzurri earning four points from those fixtures.

The whole Scommessopoli ‘scandal’ has really devastated Italian football, according to Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni.

I'm definitely stickin with City. But yeah obviously I'll be cheering for Bayern in the Bundesliga. I think it's only for the best. Dzeko would rip it apart with Bayern if it happened. Since Hazard isn't coming to City, Edin definitely shouldn't stay.

I am disgusted
They need to be suspended for an entire season without pay to learn their lesson. Apparently all that getting sent down to a lower division didn't change anything but only got worse.

Dzeko is average at best.... I don't see him getting much PT with Gomez, Robben, Shaqiri, Muller, Ribery playing most of the minutes upfront.

Terry, Luiz & Cahill are 3 great CBs. You're obviously still thinking about early season Luiz if you think he's an average defender. He's been very very good for the last 3-4 months, a different defender.
Terry was a horrible defender under AVB cause the high line just didn't work with him, and to an extent the whole team really. But ever since AVB gave up the high line, he's been very good apart from that Liverpool game LOL. That said, considering the dude gets an injection before every other game to be able to play through the pain, we need to phase him out of the starting lineup, although Luiz and Cahill have always played better with him as opposed to each other.

Cahill has been a surprise, always thought he was decent, but he's been very very impressive at Chelsea, great signing.

IMO, Terry, Luiz & Cahill is definately top 3 in the EPL as far CB rotation goes.

Ivanovic is a versatile defender, but I agree with the earlier dude that he's been better at RB than CB this season. He will be our starting RB next season and really that's where he is best.

Cole can still hold it down, but he's been average last 2 seasons cause the dude ends up playing 90mins every game 50 times a season. Chelsea have never had anyone to give him a breather. Cole and Bertrand will be fine too.

Chelsea's back 4 is definately top 3 in the EPL, imo.

Ivan - Luiz - Terry - Cole

Good post. I wouldnt say our back 4 is the greatest on paper but its serviceable. Betrand needs to get some games to give Cole a rest and Cech is still a world class keeper.
Iva---Luiz/Cahill---JT---Cole/Bertrand with Cech behind then is more than adequate.

Our biggest weakness as a team/squad is at the other end of the pitch, our attack was pretty anaemic last season. We had a lack of attacking options and no real game changers coming off the bench. Torres has to step up now Drogba is gone.
