Why would he do that when he can learn how to shoot over them.
IIRC his exact words were I want to shoot a 15 ft jumper so they can't double team me and I want to learn the turnaround jumper kobe does on the baseline to shoot over double teams.
He is going to explode wants he gets off the Lakers / away from Kobe...
Book it.
Kids got talent and you can see he is frustrated by his situation.
Hope he gets traded.
He deserves a team that will respect him. And I think once he gets the green light hr will be amazing.
i think its obvious too, and the Lakers fans are going to regret what they're saying and want now in a few years. i hope someone bumps this thread when it all unfolds and Bynum ends up the most dominating player in the league some day. only thing standing in the way IMO is injuries...
once he gets more shots and emphasis than he can handle, he'll mature in that aspect of wanting the ball so much where people call him immature for it right now. once he becomes the leader/parent of a team he'll mature in effort as well, where as in his current situation he'll forever be condescended by Kobe/Pau, and criticized by fans. just like any kid who grows up, at some point you go from a kid to an adult because you take on that responsbility, and many times it usually doesn't happen until the parent theyre used to supporting them becomes incapable or passes away. I think that is similar to how Bynum's mentality is with the Lakers.

bynum has more physical tools and ability to dominate than any Center short of Shaq since the 80's. he even has some aspects about him physically that are greater than Shaq which is his wingspan and post game. the only thing he's missing is his head/maturity....like i said you laker fans are going to regret it, especially when Dwight isn't as grass as greener as many of you think.
either way its better for Bynum to go and develop elsewhere so hopefully you all do trade him and someone bumps this in a few years...
At Bynum's size? No, he can pretty much back down almost anyone who guards him. He shoots 56% from the field. Stick to the back to the basket game, 10 feet and in. The kid is 7'1" and what? 290?

Bynum doesn't have a better post game than Shaq, and their wingspans are about the same. Shaq had great footwork and was so much quicker with his moves than Bynum could ever hope to be.
There have been other centers with more ability than Bynum outside of Shaq since the 80's too. Yao was one. Dwight currently does. If Bynum had his pre-injury athleticism then he may have been better than Dwight, but he's lost a lot of mobility and explosiveness since '08.

He should just learn how to pass out of double teams. Lakers become dangerous if he can do this.
this. when he's playing smart and not worrying about his misses (inevitable as a still unproven youngin), he picks his spots and the lakers offense can run through him at least half the time. that okc series was horrible, you could tell he was playing with a chip on his shoulder and the team payed for it. froze gasol out of the game (not to say pau was blameless to any extent in that regard of course), lots of quick possessions and forced shots over good defenders, etc etc. how many times did he repost? switch blocks for better psoition?
he's got a lot to learn for sure. a 15 ft jumper would help but unless the entire lakers roster changes, its not necessary. it'll still be a low percentage shot relative to every other conceivable shot the current la roster can get up, let alone the other shots drew himself can get with the right application.
