Default Around the NBA

Roy Hibbert has been offered a max contract from the Blazers following a meeting with Neil Olshey and Larry Miller in Washington, D.C.

The Pacers did not offer a max contract and Hibbert is leaning toward signing the offer sheet with the Blazers.

One other unnamed team reportedly offer Hibbert a max deal as well.

I forget where I read this, it was on ESPN somewhere but they said that Indiana plans to match.

Hibbert is good, but big guys sure get overpaid in the NBA.

Yeah, but with the current true two way Center era being so diluted you can understand why. I was having a convo with one of my friends earlier and we were just listing them out in their entirety.

In whatever order:
Dwight Howard
Andrew Bynum
Andrew Bogut
Roy Hibbert
Marc Gasol

and to me that's it. Only 5 guys I can think of who play in the paint, grab rebounds, block shots and play with their back to the basket. Let me know if I forgot any but either way they are at a premium, that's why they are paid such big money.

Which is why we should've taken Drummond. If he even averages 15/10 we could've traded him or Val for a legit allstar.

The nets have traded garbage for Joe Johnson. I wonder if the raps can beat out a nets team featuring DWill, JJ, Crash, and Lopez. Any chance they re-sign hump?

I just can't grasp what everyone sees in Drummond that I don't?

It's not what people see in Drummond. He may very well bust, but we didn't take a high ceiling potential player. A team looking to contend should take risks, especially when you're picking 8th and not ready to compete just yet...

I love what the Hawks are doing.

They're blowing up a flawed and pricey core. They'll either set themselves up to grab a star or two in free agency or proceed with a rebuild.

Hawks are going hard for Dwight. He is from the Atlanta area.
They will offer a package around Jeff Teague and Al Horford. As soon as Dwight realizes he completely blew his chance in Brooklyn he'll have to decide on a second choice. Atlanta could be as good a choice as any.

"A league source said Jeremy Lin will be offered a contract today maybe in the [four-year] $30 million range in a back-loaded nature similar to the one the Rockets offered Bulls big man Omir Asik." (via CBSSports.com)

The source said the Rockets will offer Lin $5 million, $5.2 million and then plan to jack up the third and fourth years to as much as $10 million.

If the Green to Celtics for 4 year, $40 million report is true, then the Landry Fields contract is no longer the worst of the offseason. That one is completely batshit insane.

Raptors fail to land Nash despite offering $11 million more than what Nash accepted with the Lakers for the same number of years.
