Default Is Russell Westbrook's pull-up jumper unguardable?

I always see him get about 3-5 feet of space to shoot it.

Why do opposing teams not take him seriously?

Instincts tell them a player will drive to the basket instead of pull up for the jumper. A few more games and Heat players will get used to it and start guarding his pull up m ore.

Because his ability to get to the rim is a bigger threat. He gets a lot of lift on his jumper so it's really tough to defend.

Westbrook's pull up is one of the most frustrating things to watch as a Thunder fan, I swear he only makes it 1/5 of the time, though thats probably just because I only notice them when he misses

if he is hitting that jumper he is unstoppable. you could make the case for about a handful of players in the league that is true for

no, its not unstoppable because hes not effective/consistent enough at it yet.

when hes on, hes pretty impossible to guard

I know people like to harp on Westbrook's shot selection, but I think it's fine. Most of his misses are due to rushing his shot. The guy plays at 200%.

How? It's too much of a guessing game.

Imagine if Rondo had a mid range jumper like Russell. Dude would be unstoppable.

When Westbrook's hot, his pull-up jumper is money.

When Westbrook's cold, his pull-up jumper is flat.

Mr. Inconsistent.

he has a lot of lift in his shot, makes them most of the time, even though it looks bad on a break, lol he probably gets a lot of space because it's a surprise, it's unexpected, especially when he's really good at taking it to the rim

How can you even say that he makes it "most of the time". That certainly isn't true. A bulk of his points come from around the rim lay up's and dunk's. Yet he is shooting 43% overall. He makes it most of the time when he makes them. But if he was shooting 51% you could actually say most of the time. And they would be ahead 2-0 right now.
