David Beckham is officially left off Great Britain team for the Olympics. Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards will take those spots for O-23 players. Choosing An old Welsh dude over another old English dude seems logical since Wales team has almost zero chance to do anything big in international field nowadays.

That would certainly be the end of Becks' international career. But he will participate in other aspect of the big event though.

Olympic tennis will be held at Wimbledon, for the first time ever. Which is really cool.

Bolt had a terrible start and he had to come from behind to get the 2nd place. Blake also had a not-as-bad start and won from behind. Asafa Powell is still clearly in the mix also.

Like I said, it's not a sure thing for Bolt.

Blake is definitely beating him in the 200m. He's a better 200m runner than Bolt IMO, and he produces more consistently good runs through his way of running the bend.

I still think Bolt will take the 100m, though he won't be breaking any records this time around IMO.

Actually if Blake has any chance of beating Bolt, it will surely be in 100m only because Bolt has a slow start, especially after that mistake last year

Blake is historically bad at starting, far worse than Bolt. Not to mention he basically out sprinted him once they both got bad starts.
You look further into it and see who has the best times since Bolt set that world record for the 200m, and you'll see Blakes name again, and with those grouped times he also set the second fastest time ever run at 19.26.

Blakes whole shtick is running a great second half of the leg. In that 19.26 run, he actually ran the fastest second half ever. So if Bolt's infront, he won't just cruise away for victory.

I'll take my word for it, because I was proved right just inside a week later after my comments. You on the other-hand, not so much.

Allyson Felix gets the last spot in the 100m as Tarmoh declines the run-off. Its still pretty amazing that the USATF really suggested a coin flip to see who determines who goes to the Olympics, kind of insulting to those who put in all the hard work to try to make it.

It's and understandable option. Even though a lot of people don't realize it, a 100 meter race can take a lot out of a professional sprinter. For an incredible 200 meter runner like Allyson Felix, it probably isn't very smart to do another race that she wasn't planning on doing.

I think they should have gone with Justin Gatlin's (mens 100 meter winner) suggestion:

jello wrestling

I'm very sad William Leer and his killer mustache did not make the men's 1500 in track.

So Noah is out, and Parker is also out. Team France is doomed.

Also, Nastia Liukin, that American gymnast who won the gold on individual all-around 4 years ago, retired from competitive gymnastics after she failed to qualify, faceplanting during an uneven bars event.
