Re: Does it make sense that Sprint stock is 3.18/share while Verizon/AT&T are 43.57/35.18
Depends on a lot of things. It isn't really something you can just eyeball and makes a judgement on. I'd bet that Sprint's revenue stream is tiny compared to the other two.

You cant really compare a f*cking conglomerate like AT&T to sprint. I know nothing about stock prices but I wouldn't expect them to be close at all. Verizon and AT&T do so much more than Sprint.Their revenues are worlds apart.

no you're both clueless. share price per stock is related to value of the company period. to think share price can't be compared relatively to other companies is laughable. look at and compare every stock, and tell me if share prices has nothing to do with each company's value thats relative to other stocks share prices
its funny when people think they know but don't...

you'll probably want to look at the market cap rather than simple stock price then....
eg, right now Google and Apple's stock price is VERY close, 561 to 568 respectively. But Apple is valued at $532 billion while Google is at $183 billion.

well i'm just looking at it in a general sense. since the gap is so vast between Sprint to VZ and T
right from the get go, you can see AT&T's revenue is 4x that of Sprint's, and it doesn't help that right now Sprint's profit margin is -9.72%. Just do some basic research man...

thats what i was wondering, just how huge are AT&T and VZ relative to Sprint, since i have no idea....

first, thx for being helpful...
thing is tho the stock prices often reflect future infrastructure costs/profits, or a ton of other stuff going on in the market where its just so much positive and negative of lets say negative profit margins that you cited which could be tied to cost of investments, but they're rolling out 4G in some areas soon which has kept the stock prices of S on a upswing for awhile now. in the last month its gone from like 2.60 to about 3.15 now....altho i didn't know AT&T's revenue was 4x's that of Sprints. yeah i haven't done thorough research, just was throwing this out there for easy answers. was more curious about getting a gauge of how big a player Sprint is vs VZ/T...

no it doesn't
read this...the highest priced stock on the market: $155,750 PER SHARE, does that mean this is the most successful company on the planet?...no, it means they don't have many shares out.
Quote:
Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) $115,750
Berkshire Hathaway has the highest shares on the New York Stock Exchange, so it needs special attention. It is above $110,000 because it doesn’t split its shares. Normally a company will complete several 2:1 splits over the years, which doubles the shares outstanding but also cuts the price in half.
Famous investor Warren Buffett keeps the price high to deter short-term traders from creating excessive volatility. At one point this year it cost more than $130,000 per share. At that price it trades about 450 shares every day. There is a lower priced option with Berkshire Hathaway B shares (BRK.B), which trades around $75 that were $3,000 per share until a 50:1 split in January 2010.
Buffett created this holding company, which is so big that it doesn’t just acquire buildings or factories; instead it often gobbles up whole companies. A true conglomerate, Berkshire owns retail, insurance, railways, furniture stores and more.

I think the big difference is that Verizon and AT&T provide a lot of services to business and residential customers while Sprint is pretty much just a wireless internet/cell phone service.
