will new orleans get an automatic A for draft day grades?
it seems like whenever their is a consensus #1 pick overall the team that drafts first always gets an A for making the same pick a monkey could do.
im not saying the hornets shouldnt necessarily get an A but they need to earn it by making smart picks/trades later on...not simply getting the automatic A for getting lucky a few weeks ago, then showing up and handing stern a note that a trained monkey could have also done.
eg, 1997 draft. spurs had one pick. #1. tim duncan. they literally showed up, handed a piece of paper with duncan's name on it (which was written months before the draft), then left. not "A" worthy IMO - more of an "INC" grade.

They need to pick wisely with that #10 pick, in my opinion. That determines everything, as to who will complement Davis. If Drummond falls to them, they should absolutely take him... although I doubt he falls that far.
They should draft Kendall Marshall, which seems much more realistic. Davis and Marshall is an automatic "A" grade in my book.

seems like you are obsessed with some media's draft day grades when they arent supposed to mean much anyway. no one deserves any grades for making a pick that can potentially turn out to be a bust anyway.

you're a big unc fan right, what do you think of barnes as a prospect? ive heard some people say that in HS he looked much more comfortable in his own skin, and at unc he had a tendency to overthink, due to the high expectations, something he will be free of in the nba. do you think he has more than he has shown at unc?

obsessed? no.
just asking if the hornets deserve an "A" for making the obvious pick. doesnt make sense to me.

I think the grade is for how the draft goes for them, not for how good their drafting skill is. Obviously by having #1 the draft automatically goes very well for them.
