Default Raptors and Sonics trade

This has been one of the rumors involving the Raptors. I think this would benefit both sides:

To Seattle:

1# pick

To Toronto

Luke Ridnour
10# pick

Seattle saves money by not giving Luke a contract extention. Earl Watson steps in as the starting point guard and Seattle starts fresh with the first pick.

Toronto gets their pass first point guard. Luke will prospere running the show for the Raptors. Raptors with the 10# pick take an athletic 2 guard or centre.

What do you guys think?

Based on earlier, equally unsubstantiated rumours, Johann Petro culd also be involved. I would not make that deal without him.

Yeah, Petro would make a good 2nd/3rd string center for now, and who knows after he fully develops his game. If this trade does go down, who do you think would go #10?

I don't like dropping that far in the draft, however i know thats a trade that could really help us.

Carney, Brewer, O'Bryant and Redick would probably be there, the least likely one would be Carney though. I think Redick would be good for our bench, replace the 3 point threat void left by Bonner. Although I think if Rodney Carney is there we take him and place it safe.

Personly i would take JJ just because i'm not sure who would take him before us, and his game is a good fit for what we are trying to run.

im not sure how much of a rumour this actually is, i doubt its been discussed at all, but it is perfect for the raps

if we could snag ourselves rodney carney, ronnie brewer or maurcie ager at #10, i'd think we'd be pretty much set for next season

to make it more fair i would trade. #1 + #35 + #56 for ridnour, petro and #10.

would leave us with

Ridnour / Calderon
Peterson / #10 pick
charlie V / Joey G
Bosh / Humphires
Nesterovic / Petro / Sow

and the sonics

they could go with aldridge or morrison or what ever

maybe go with a little small ball

Watson
Allen
Morrison
Lewis
Wilcox

or more conventional

Watson
Allen
Lewis
Wilcox
Aldridge

great trade for both teams IMO

ridnour and calderon are the only 2 white PG's i actually like in this league

By that you mean letting the opponents score 110 points a game and trying to outscore them?

Sure reddick can shoot...but thats it. Not very athletic, a bad defender by NBA standards, and we all saw what happened in the final four when an athletic guard was defending him...he was helpless. Sorry but JJ aint coming to TO regardless of any trades or "what we are trying to run". At least I hope to god he aint coming...I'll cry.

To add to that, his back problems have been slated to keep him inactive for months and his reputation with the "driving under influence" situation may effect his overall value within the draft.

i am pretty sure the raptors would never do this which is good because it sounds like a horrible trade. They get an average point guard and the 10 pick which most of the time tends to be a bench player at best while giving up the #1 pick which 70% of the time is an all star.

Not sure how much interest the Raps would have in JJ, they haven't had him in for a workout yet. I know there is still some time for that. I feel that if the Raps trade down to the 10th spot in the draft, that they would be looking to draft one of the point guards.
