You are HIGHLY underrating Hakeem Nicks (maybe because he's in the NFC East?). I'd be far less shocked if Nicks finished as a top 3 WR (Elite WR1) then if Stevie Johnson finished in the top 24 (WR2 territory).

This wasn't a gentle, passionate rape. Like a guy in love with a girl his entire life thats sexually frustrated and the girl is teasing him a bit, and one night with heavy drinking he goes out and rapes her softly..

This was a prison rape, a new fish (Jazzfan) shows up to cell block D, big bad Dean is there to greet him with open arms and then the homies came through and ran a train on Jazz for what was left of him..

Metaphorically speaking..Dean took jazzfans **** flower. BB4L is the ultimate booty bandit.

Thanks for painting us a picture.

So vividly disturbing, and yet accurate.

BB4Life is the Jerry Sandusky of FF trades. He won't hesitate to take a young, innocent creature into the shower stall and bend him over in front of the janitor.

RBA if you felt so strongly about Nicks why didn't you take him before he went mid 4th round?

This league wouldn't be the same with Dooms' movie references.

Very astute question with a very logical answer. First, let me say that I didn't get to pick in the 4th round prior to Nicks being taken or he would have definitely been my pick, so your question really is why I didn't take him with one of my first three picks.

I decided prior to the draft (and in every draft this year) that two of my first three picks had to be my RB1 and RB2. As tempting as taking a couple of beast WRs may be, the field of RBs is just too weak this year to wait until the 4th round or later to get your RB2.

In fact, my original plan was to go RB with my first two picks. I had a CJ2K/Demarco Murray combination in mind, but would have settled for CJ2K/FJax. Unfortunately, both Murray and FJax went just before I made my 2nd selection and there was literally no RBs left that I thought were worthy of a 2nd round pick. So, I had to amend my strategy a bit and go RB-WR-RB. However, when I went WR with my 2nd round pick, it meant that I had no choice but to fill the RB2 spot with my 3rd round pick regardless of who was still on the board at other positions.

Make no mistake... I consider Nicks a much better fantasy player than Sproles and, all things being equal, I would have definitely taken him with my 3rd round pick. But, if I did that, I would have ended up with a Shonn Green or Beanie Wells caliber player as my RB2, which I wasn't willing to do.

Also, I considered taking Nicks over Roddy White in Round 2 before settling on White. I consider those two players to be very close.

So, there you have it... Never had a chance to take him in the 4th round and only strategy and an overall lack of depth at the RB spot stopped me from taking Nicks in the first three rounds, and even in the 3rd round, he would have been an absolute steal.

In retrospect, I wish I would have gone CJ2K-Charles-Nicks instead of CJ2K-White-Sproles, but obviously I had no idea Nicks was still going to be on the board in the 3rd round.

Nicks fell in most FF drafts this year because of his injury...he was a ? to play week 1, still will probably be used sparingly Wednesday night...

that and the fact that Cruz is going to be the true #1 on that team this year...

His injury had nothing to do with why I didn't pick him, nor did Cruz. I also don't think that is why he is 'falling' in some drafts. It is just a RB thing. A lot of people recognize the same thing that I did... You don't get your starting RB situation sorted out very quickly this year and you are in a world of trouble.

Therefore, money in the bank receivers like Nicks, Cruz, Marshall, Green, Jennings, Nelson, Welker, etc. are falling well beyond their actual worth. Just a case of RB being by far the weakest position and WR being by far the strongest, so people are willing to wait.

He broke his foot and missed the entire preseason because of it...he will likely be worked in slow

same reason Miles fell in drafts...people concerned about his injury and also Dez taking away targets and becoming the #1
