Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to the L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. the L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

It seems as though the Lakers/Magic trade talks have met a stand-still because Bynum has made it adamantly clear that he will NOT sign an extension with Orlando, and will be testing the FA market next summer.

I really want a link as proof.
There are conflicting reports, and the only legit link I've seen was a tweet from an Orlando reported saying "Bynum not willing to sign an extension, is not true."
And please don't quote some article, where a reporter expresses his opinion on the matter. I want a legit source stating that Bynum is not interested in re-signing with the Magic.
They can always amnesty Artest and Blake is a decent bench player to have for a couple years.
Conflicting reports on Bynums stance.
The Amnesty Provision only works if the player in question was under contract BEFORE the current CBA was passed, and is still under said contract with the same team.
Any player that is not still with the team they were with before the current CBA was signed (last summer) is not eligible to be amnestied.

LOL why are you so defensive??
I agree that Bynum is absolutely the best player the Magic can obtain in a Dwight Howard trade, but I also understand their hesitance to trade for basically an expired when he supposedly has been clear about his desire to test free agency if traded from the Lakers.
What am I supposed to quote if not an article? Sorry I'm not a reporter I don't have direct quotes from Bynum himself.
Then either buy out Artest's deal or trade him next year as an expirer. Not hard.
Yes, those are two options for the Magic FO,but I think its clear that they shouldn't be looking to add long-term, dead-weight, contracts when trading Dwight Howard. They should be looking to unload them.
I get it you're a Laker fan, and maybe you're just trolling common sense.... but you do understand that its not rational for the Magic to take back unproductive players on over-paid multi-year deals... right??

When was the last time a team decided to trade SIX players, two of which are promising rookies, plus a draft pick!, for 1 great centre and 2 crappy ones? Isn't this trade implying Houston goes full rebuilding mode, but without even a draft pick for next year? That's just silly.
