Shaq had a player efficiency rating of 30.6, and compiled 29.7 points, 13.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 3.0 blocks per game.
The Lakers won 67 games that year, and Shaq, in terms of winshares, accounted for 18.6 of those wins himself, well over a quarter of the total. He led the league in both offensive (11.7) and defensive (7.0) winshares that year.
Well I like Olajuwon more and I would rather build around Olajuwon than Shaq anyways career or peak but Shaq may have been a little better in 2000. It is tough to say but this is just my two cents of course.
Do as thou wilt, I was just looking for an excuse to say f*ck team battles. I think Akeem was better than Shaq also.
BAH! I'm having a helluva time deciding between 3 people.. No doubt AGOAT will take one of them. Then the real choosing begins.
Also, I gotta run to the air port and pick up my parents from their vacation. I may or may not post my pick from there. ZOAT is sure taking his sweet time . I'll get my pick in tonight though for sure.

Had a hard time choosing because he won the finals next year but his season was just more dominant and even his post season was better but unfortunately basketball is a team game and if your teams doesn't put average effort it is OVA!
If not for injuries to other key players on his team, this season might have been in the running for the best single season of all-time.
Kareem won MVP for the 5th time in his career (tying a then NBA Record for MVP's with Bill Russell). Was on the All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive Second Team. Led the Lakers to the best record.
He clearly raised his game in the playoffs on all his statistics. His 35ppg on 61%fg is the highest for a 30+ppg scorer in the playoffs, efficiency wise. Not to mention, being a monster defensive presence.
61-62 Bill Russell. I feel confident in this pick. I wanted to go in alot of different directions but the fact everybody let him slip kinda forced my hand. Pretty sure the next 2-3 guys I had in my mind come off the board real quick.
