ok guys, we gotta snipe away some of bama's assets. fsu already got their defensive backs coach in pruitt and flipped demarcus walker in the process. rumors are that they're in close talks with bama's RB's coach as well

Eh, the SEC didn't look all that great in the Bowl games aside from like 2 teams.

As much as I like to see the Irish get stomped, I'm not sure I particularly care to see Alabama being the one who does the stomping.

This is why the playoffs just can't come sooner.

Wouldn't it be great to see one more game since this was such a bullshit ending?

Not sure taking position coaches and a recruit or two here and there is going to do it. As long as they have Saban and Kirby Smart, they're going to be really, really good. Wish Florida State had kicked Fisher to the curb after Bowden retired and brought Richt back to where he got his start, but I don't really know the whole story there; so Georgia could've brought Smart back to his Alma mater.

And yes, the SEC wasn't that impressive this year at the top. Not as impressive as they've been the last few years. But, at the same time, college football as a whole was down in my opinion. The only non-SEC team I think could give Alabama a run for their money this year is Oregon...maybe Florida State if the good E.J. Manuel showed up.

ya, but it wouldn't hurt.

i agree that as long as saban is there, they'll be highly relevant. guy is an assassin when you give him a couple weeks or more to game plan. so taking nothing away from bama...congrats to them. that's where fans want their program to be. a repeat is some rarefied air.

as far as fsu, i don't even think they'd beat bama on a good day. they are just way too TO prone and the return game was a mess all season. i think they play great for spurts but i stopped truly considering them a contender a little more than half way through the season.

Ohio State would've lost but I wonder if they would've put up more of a fight than Notre Dame...

you are assuming Ohio State wins the Big 10 title game. You can't assume the BCS title game would be OSU/ND b/c it is nowhere near a given that OSU would win the Big 10 title game let alone finish undefeated in regular season play if they suddenly had something to play for.

Purdue's new DC's FSU's ex-LB coach, know anything bout him?

OSU woulda beat the shit out of Nebraska, in a blowout. That doesn't mean they'd have given Bama a game, but they certainly would have won the conference title game.

everyone thought Nebraska would beat the hell out of Wisconsin in their rematch and that didn't happen.

Iowa State was favored to beat Tulsa a second time after beating their ass earlier in the year but they got smoked in their bowl.

Nebraska spanked Washington a few years ago in the regular season and was taken down in their bowl rematch.

LSU was favored to beat Bama again last year in the BCS title game and got thumped.

in 96 Florida State beat Florida in the last game of the regular season only to get absolutely crushed by the Gators in the national title game rematch.

again, more often than not, the loser in the first game wins the rematch. It is in no way a given OSU wins the Big 10 title game. Its also not a given OSU would have even been undefeated in the first place b/c they suddenly would have faced a ton of pressure they didn't deal with b/c they knew all year they weren't going bowling.

I was responding to a poster who made the hypothetical that Ohio State would have been a better match for Alabama than ND. I assume that under this hypothetical he is assuming an undefeated Ohio State.

Were that the case they would have been playing ND rather than Alabama.

I, in no way, claimed that Ohio State would actually have been there, merely stating the fact that the two undefeateds would have been the ones facing each other.

Damn...SEC sucks.

Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 12 are better.
