oh and ucla's o-line is trying to get hundley killed...meanwhile, murray is making some nice throws
i'm ok with Savannah State basically getting demolished for cash,

Savannah State's total endowment is $4.2 million. So a $1 million payday (actually $860,000) for two games amounts to a quarter of the university's total endowment and nearly half of the annual football budget.

sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to make that cash

that sort of thing keeps schools afloat

there's about a couple dozen schools or more in their position. you don't see them scheduling OK state and fsu. i'd like to see exactly how much goes to football as well. i get the feeling football is what keeps their other programs alive...

maybe those other schools should look into it, as long as the players are ok with playing, i don't see the harm.

and it looks like, according to this article that "The largest portion of the money from these dates, he says, will go right back into the football program."

well, that makes me feel a little less against it. that said, i've seen reports and declarations like that only to see the money get 'redirected'. if it truly goes into upgrading facilities and equipment, it isn't nearly as bad.

a lot of the players probably won't even be there to see any real changes, so they're basically sacrificial lambs for the future of the program.

It wasn't really their defense. They got plastered in the first half. They stepped up in the 2nd, but there was still a number of dropped passes, poor throws, and field position issues. The 2nd half was kind of a clusterfuck for both teams, but just a bit more of one for NU.

NU has to learn how to tackle...

What a shitty Big Ten day. Nebraska loses to UCLA, Penn State loses to UVA, Iowa loses to Iowa State, Wisconsin loses to Oregon State, Purdue (and their dumb**** Kentucky hick coach) lose to ND. Michigan barely beats friggin Air Force. IU crushed UMass but lost their QB for the year. Illinois's down 2 TDs to Arizona State right now.

MSU and OSU took care of business. And Minnesota blew out a tiny school, good for them.

This is a heat of the moment thing and I wont feel the same way in a few days, but f**k what the national media and everyone else thinks. Jeff Long shouldn't have fired Petrino. For the first time in 30 years Arkansas was relevant again in college football and that whole scandal would have been pretty much blown over by now and most people wouldn't care if he was still the coach.

Lowest moment in my lifetime as an Arkansas fan. Ranked #8 in the nation and lose at home to a Sun Belt team.
Petrino knows football but he's just too big of a jackass to be stomached. There's a coach out there somewhere that can give you a good program without being a total dick.

arkansas lost that game because of poor o-line and secondary play. injuries certainly didn't help but that's still a game they should win regardless. that's why they were 30 point favorites. looking at georgia's schedule, they have a very manageable road to the SEC championship. of course, bama/LSU sitting there but we'll see...murray's a legit QB

btw, duke is awful. i thought they might hang around with stanford for at least a half.

OSU on upset alert? 24-13 arizona at the half. apparently, arizona teams are ready to roll tonight

i thought that was an inaccurate report? anyway, ducks may have lost their safety and arguably best defensive player, boyell, for the season. that's a major hit.

lunt just threw an INT that arizona returned for a TD. 45-31 arizona. cowboy thunder on suicide watch

You're right, it appears to be inaccurate and CBS has backed off of the report. My bad.
