I don't remember him saying that.
Does anyone else?

The Toronto Raptors: Making roster decisions based on salary more than tallent since 1995.

Completely ridiculous that we've essentially traded a first rounder for a second one (protected at that!) just to make room for one of the worst contracts in the NBA.

Keep it in perspective. The player wasnt all that great (still should have gotten a first rounder back and I would take him over fields).

Just BC pretending to have an idea of what hes doing.

JJ was very good as an individual defensive player. He was fun to watch swatting balls away and coming from no where. But he was a rogue player. As casey Said, he was just good enough to have a coach fired.

So as flashy as JJ was he was a problem for a defensive coach trying to establish a system. So though I liked seeing those blocks, at the end of the day it was all flash and nobody wins with flash. It entertains. And from fans here I would hope that most of you would see that.

So from my perspective I don't care about what he gets paid so much as I care about allowing Casey to develop a strong defensive core that will actually result in wins.

Watching Fields play I think he fits the mold as a defensive systems guy who has some offense. A balance is needed, so regardless of what we all consider a certain player is worth, it can only be measured by how he fits into the system.

This years MVP will actually be Casey. A coach who knows what he wants, knows what he needs to see his vision come to fruition.

JJ did not fit, and it's always a good move to find a better fit. And good luck to JJ.

Saying all of that, we stil traded a 1st rounder to get a 2nd rounder. Less about Fields then it is about ass backwards management.

Truly this is pretty sad. Trade a first rounder for a guy who hasn't earned any playing time. Then trade him away for a second rounder after he proves himself a capable starter.

I don't know about the quote, as B4B is notorious for throwing out quotes without links. But anyways from what i've read in recent days in terms of reasons why, it was definitely because of whatever beef he had with Casey.

Keep going on about how bad it is and how we are taking on bad contracts. But seriously, we need to move forward and maybe, just maybe Fields can step up in the absence of JJ. I will be one of the first supporters to say "I look forward to see what Fields can do in a system that doesn't have a superstar leading"...People need to step up and he could be one of those guys...

Well I suppose one positive is that we won't have to deal with that one guy with the weird agenda against James Johnson in game threads.

We sucked massive balls last year but Johnson was our best/most consistent player...

I think in the next CBA they should fight for the option to amnesty general managers who suck.
