The new testament isn't real scripture, it was rewritten and re-edited too much.

God never gave up on Israel and the Jews and all of a sudden changed his attention to his magical "son" who appeared one day out of nowhere.

Christianity is basically just a bizarre sect of Judaism.

With all of this emphasis on all the different patron saints (patron saint of travel, patron saint of medicine, patron saint of animals etc etc), holy trinities, sons of god, it is more akin to paganism then anything else.

It seems like the romans tried to mix Judaism with the old ancient greek pagan religion at the council of nicaea, and that's how they came up with modern christianity.

it's too bad that so many people are following the politically manufactured, corrupt version of judaism.

If religion is so wrong about everything, why did ancient jews know about the big bang 3,800 years before scientists even came up with the theory?
And they weren't the first with the theory. If you read history the Egyptians had a tree of life and were far superior in terms of astrology - or I should say they knew these things before there seems to be a nation of Jews. The same could be said of the Babylonians and farther East traditions. The ancient Egyptians knew which stars were heavier (denser) and knew of their Sirius Star 2400 year cycle about 4000 years ago. This whole 2012 thing is based on Sirius being part of our binary star system.

There are people in Mali Africa (they live in the mountains) that know the chemical elements of Sirius B. Not only that but they claim that Sirius B is a much bigger star than our sun and once was close enough to devour our sun. When it was close enough, it sucked out rocks from our sun - one of which we live on. These people have had little contact with the outside world for about 700 years. They claim an ancient history from the East - likely Egypt. The funny thing is that Sirius B isn't recognizable with the necked eye. The story they tell has a tremendous knowledge of gravity, rotation, chemistry, orbit and astrology.

The Kaballah practice doesn't have a problem with borrowing from other traditions. You will see a bit of Islam in the later practices and definitely a ton of Eastern tradition influences in the modern day practices. As far as creation stories go. I don't know if there is one that matches the one in Genesis. That story covers a lot of ground and is told in great fashion.

Excuse me for my ignorance in the Jewish religion.. but isn't it the same as Christianity?

Didn't the Bible say God created the heavens and the earth in 7 days? I highly doubt the Big Bang created humans in 7 days.

This is why its pointless to argue with religious ****tards, no matter what advances science makes they'll just put god at the top of it. Philosophers in ancient Rome were talking about a lot of what science has proven to be true way back in the day, does that make every philosopher ever correct?

7 days is not literal. There is a whole art of reading the torah and bible in hebrew by interpreting the letters.

So no christianity is not the same as judaism. Christians often times literally interpret lines of text in hebrew that are meant to be allegorical or have multiple meanings.

damn Nick, I came into this thread thinking you were going be talking like a fool but you actually know what you are talking about.

it drives me crazy how many times I've tried to explain to various types of Christians that much of the Old Testament was never meant to be taken as literal. They just stare at me like I'm making it up.

By the time I get to how the Christian Bible has been edited and translated so often that its difficult to say what ideas come from where they have gone into full on defense mode.

Just to let you know the egg came first. It's absolutely impossible for a chicken to come first when there were no chickens before hand.

something similar enough to a chicken mated with something similar enough to a chicken...and out popped the chicken as we know it today

It's sad to say, but current Christianity is basically a bastard combination of Judaism and pagan religions invented by the Romans 300 years after Jesus died, too bad so many people are following this false religion and misinterpreting the old testament so badly these days.
