Atlanta Hawks GM Danny Ferry has come to ATL and did what most thought was virtually the impossible and traded the "old CBA" maxed out contract of All Star SG Joe Johnson and has created a bright outlook for the Hawks financially by putting them in a position to be able to add up to a maximum contract player which most I presume would love for it to be used on hometown hero Dwight Howard, I agree but I think another player out there would fit in better w/ the Hawks plans moving forward.
James Harden
I think "The Beard" James Harden would fit in lovely in Atlanta. He's a versatile lefty who can play on or off the ball, similar to the other versatile lefty on the team (Josh Smith), he wouldn't dominate the offense but he is a player who has shown the ability to take over a game (not so much in the Finals though) and w/ a post player like Al Horford, it'd make Harden's game a little more easier as Horford is able to score unlike the post players in OKC and also having Josh as another threat on the floor. Teague is a rising PG who seems to be another guy who'd mesh well w/ Harden as now they'd have Harden, Teague, Josh, and Horford who'd all be able to get out on the fastbreak while also being able to get back effectively in transition defense.
Not that I think Harden is a max player but honestly, he will get max money from somewhere and Atlanta would put themselves into true contender status if they make a move like this simply because I honestly don't see Dwight signing in ATL and yes I know the Hawks would have to re-up both J Smoove & Teague.
2013 Atlanta Hawks:
Teague/ Harden/ Smith/ Horford/ ?

Vey nice team with shooters like Morrow and Korver.
Ideally they should just play Smith at the 4 and Horford at the 5.
Problem is I can see alot of teams making a huge push for Smith....Boston...Philly...Chicago..

Don't you think this argument is a bit.... stupid? I mean, JJ was the Hawks' best player. Harden is OKC's third-best player. You think Harden takes the Hawks to the Finals?

lol yeah man, i was kiddin around with that. he was the 3rd option, but he hit some big shots, and they might not get past the spurs without him. as 1st option, joe johnson disappears in the playoffs every year. i've noticed it every year. he might do better as a 2nd option now.

lol, Lebron was the first option/best player on the team and the primary focus on team's defense. Harden was the 3rd best player and didn't have as much defensive focus.
It does kind of piss me off though because everybody in OKC showed up except Harden. Harden was the reason why they lost. I can't think of many other reasons. I still don't think the Heat were the better team.

Harden being invisible is probably just behind ,Brooks being a stoic idiot and playing Perkins for the majority of every game . Not far behind that is Durant's poor defense and rebounding.
