2012-13 Utah Jazz preseason schedule
The Utah Jazz announced today the team’s eight-game 2012 preseason schedule which will feature three home games at EnergySolutions Arena.
The Jazz will open the preseason at the Golden State Warriors on October 8. Jazz fans will get their first chance to see the team in Salt Lake City when the Jazz hosts Northwest Division rival Oklahoma City on October 12. Utah will then play three straight games in Southern California, facing the Los Angeles Lakers at STAPLES Center on October 13, then again in Anaheim, Calif., on October 16, before facing the Clippers the following night at STAPLES Center on October 17. This will be the fourth time in the last six years that the Lakers and Jazz will meet in Anaheim.
The Jazz then hosts the Clippers in the return match on October 20 before wrapping up the preseason with consecutive games against the Portland Trail Blazers, October 22 in Portland and October 25 in Salt Lake City.
This year’s schedule marks the second time in three years that the Jazz will host three preseason games in Salt Lake City. The 2010 preseason was the first time this ever occurred, and was the first time since 2001 that the team played three preseason games in the state of Utah.
While Utah also played the Trail Blazers twice in the 2011 preseason, and faced the Clippers and Lakers in the 2010 preseason, the Jazz will face Oklahoma City for the first time since 2004 when they were still the Seattle SuperSonics, and meet Golden State in the preseason for the first time since 1995.
