Default Wow, Ryan Leslie >> Frank Ocean

Dude is a poor man's Ryan Leslie.

I heard some Frank Ocean song today and I thought the whole time "is this Ryan Leslie?" But it couldn't be because it had no bass line or creativity im the production.

Ryan Leslie: Wanna BE Good

Can't recall the last mainstream R&B singer you liked. I remember you not liking Miguel,Usher and now Frank Ocean. Good job Kizzle.

In order to appease you I'm going to make threads about Stephanie Mills, Deniece Williams, and maybe Big Mama Thornton.

Maxwell is mainstream and I like him!

And do Stephanie Mills first, underrated singer.

Who?

And I was going to make a thread about her, but she was rough around the edges. Good singer but her music videos make me

That "song" was horrible. Maxwell needs to give it up.

Nigha, you're gone off that water!

Maxwell is one of our only hopes in the RnB world (that is until I drop!)

Song should be called Wanna be good(as good as Frank Ocean is).

Maybe one day when he actually gets a creative bone in his body. Doesn't he know that this typical, cookie cutter, same old same old shit is boring? We've seen it all before. His song is cut out from the typical RnB stencil.

I don't get you at all. We've discussed multiple eras of R&B over the years here and you really think that I don't know who Maxwell is? You must not know who I am.

Umm... arguably the most recognizable neo soul singer, and a father of the movement?

I'm PowerGlove and Phoenix18 as well.

I want to know more about Disco though. You seem pretty knowledgeable about music, so where should I start. I know a bit, but I figured you would know more.

Ugh, not a huge huge disco fan, I like this by Joe Tex though.

Ain't Gonna Bump No More (With No Big Fat Women)

The Bee Gee's, KC & the Sunshine Band and shit like that was disco, I like Donna Summers though, Disco Queen, RIP.
