RIP Dan Roundfield.

I always drafted this guy in the NBA WIF Sim League.

Truth. I usually don't wander too far outward in oceans or Great Lakes, but I've learned over the years it doesn't take as much as I thought to place a swimmer in a precarious position. On rough wave days in Michigan, a friend of mine who lives on the lake says anything beyond knee-deep water has the potential to create an issue.

I didn't know much about Roundfield prior to his passing, so I suppose I'm thankful I'm able to learn about him now. He graduated from Detroit Chadsey in 1971 and was actually scheduled to be inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame next Thursday.

Screw that. Any sort of death where asphyxiation is involved has to be one of the worst ways to die.

So that wasn't a good way to die? Perhaps maybe trapped and burned alive? Starved or diseased in a death camp? Gored or eaten alive by one of natures beasts? Shot up in a public movie theater? Dying slowly in a hospice bed riddled with cancerous tumors? C'mon... realistically, is there such a thing as a good option? Dying sucks, period.

I'm suggesting there is a good way, but something quick would be preferable, and having the air leave your lungs in anyway would be rather terrifying and slow.
