I can't wait for China to be the new ruler of the world. The U.S. had a good run but I have a feeling that China will be less evil/bully about their rule.

You have to be freaking kidding. China is a big time bully. Much more than the U.S. Learn something. You should see how China treats it's own people..let alone other people.

You would be weaving shit for sneakers companies if China was the ruler of the world.

Its all scale. China is huge and growing exponentially, things like this happen. Sadly though, developers take the money from people who invest in these or buy condos before construction and the people get f*cked out of their money.

Bangkok has an area like this as well near Don Muang Airport. They built an entire new city to move the downtown to and then after about 80% completion their economy collapsed and it remains a ghost town.

but isn't that the entire point? government money's pumped into Developer X to build a big condo building for the sake of building a big condo building so they can say "look at all the upscale housing units our booming economy is building?"

Exactly, it is the Chinese business mentality, looking the part before being the part.
