No he doesn't, in fact I've never heard knowledgeable fans discredit Duncan's first ring.
Had it been some kind of fluke championship it might have made sense (even if the fact that lockout seasons are more difficult than normal seasons should be pretty says to understand) but he didn't win just one, he won three championships after that and the Spurs have been a serious contender almost every year of his career.
What more could he do to show he deserved the first ring?

You left off Antonio Daniels - that makes 42 players who have won rings with Duncan. I'm sure they aren't claiming that he's won only 3 or 3.5 (or whatever asterisk) championships some of you posters think he has. It's what goes down in the history book that matters.
