Excellent link.

Also, I'm not a big blowhard about this type of stuff, but I think this video provides a good example of how it's not always as simple as taking an elite defender (Scottie Pippen) and saying, "Oh he'd shut down the other team's star." Pippen was in fact a great defender, but there's so many other factors that come into play during an actual game. It looked like he was tasked with shutting down Mullin, but so often, he was forced to help or work around screens, thus allowing Mullin numerous opportunities. It's just not always as simple as seeing a one-on-one coverage matchup and drawing conclusions.

On the flip side, interesting to see Sarunas match up with MJ. It didn't work out too well, did it? I took a look at the box score of this game just in case Jordan had a high shot total for the game and perhaps Sarunas did a fine job in the highlights we didn't see. However, Jordan shot 17-22, ha.

it's plain annoying that the announcer is screaming everytime Jordan is near the ball.

That's just how Red Kerr was.

"OH WHAT A PASS BY MIKE! HE WAS DRIVING, LEFT HIS FEET, and LOOK AT THIS. LOOK AT THIS! OH MIKE, WHAT A PLAYYYY. . ."

Then moments later Chris Mullin would make a startling reverse, vastly superior to Jordan's lucky dish: "There he is again. Chris Mullin finishes inside."

here is a pretty awesome tribute video I found of him made by our very own K-Blaze:

People think he was just a shooter but he did much much more.

I think Chris Mullin is a success story, quite contrary to one containing an "imagine if he didn't fall in love with vodka" line. Mullin struggled with alcoholism early in his career, was sent to rehab during the '87-'88 season (his third year in the league) and emerged clean and ready to run all over the league, which he did, averaging almost 27ppg on 51% shooting in his first year post-rehab. He'd go on to average over 25 points per game in every season up until 1994, when injuries began to hit him pretty hard.

Either way, I think Mullin is the rare case where a career realized its potential after curing an alcohol problem, contrary to many others (Vin Baker) whose careers hit rock bottom in large part due to the juice.

I'd say given he is in the HOF you can't call his story anything but a success.
