A lot of seemingly decent teams this year. I want to say on average there are around 5 new PO teams a year so I did that for my list. Last WC spot for both conferences was hard.

The Titans aren't winning the AFC South.

Did the Saints do anything particularly amazing last year that they are playoff locks this year?
Just the best offense of all time. No big deal.

The Saints are no particular lock to do anything. They are a very good team in a conference with a bunch of very good teams. Note the 49ers and their very pedestrian offense knocked you out because your "best offense of all time" (which is ridiculous btw) compliments your "defense so crappy it was paying players to hurt people and still couldn't do it".

No apologies, we'll see what happens. The Saints are between a 9 and 11 win team (much like my Giants) and an injury or hiccup here and there can knock you out.

Do you watch football? There are very few "locks". NE is a lock. SF is a lock (because their division is crap). You are not a lock.

i tried to throw in one surprise because if you look year over year, there is always (literally) a surprise. It's just the way it is now.

SF is not a lock at all, not with Alex Smith at QB. Seahawks are improved and probably an 8-8 to 10-6 team, the Rams will certainly be better than last year, and the Cardinals haven't gotten worse or better.

NFC- Packers, Saints, 49ers, Eagles
WC- Bears, Giants

AFC- Pats, Texans, Steelers, Broncos
WC- Ravens, Bills

NFC will be a bloodbath, I see 8 playoff level teams with Falcons & Lions just missing. Cowboys, Seahawks and Panthers have legit shots if everything goes right for them.

AFC not as exciting, Pats & Texans are locks, Steelers/Ravens will duke it out, AFC West and the last wildcard spot are up in the air but I don't see many contenders. Chiefs and Titans have the best shots. Went Buffalo b/c they're more consistent and their schedule from Week 11 on is golden. Bengals were lucky to sneak in last year, don't see it happening again. Jets offense is trash, in San Diego Rivers isn't the same and they're low on talent on both sides of the ball, Raiders can't stay healthy and aren't that great to begin with.

Most of these lists will probably laughable by week 8.

Dallas is taking the East and it was a damn multiple 4th quarter miracle they even let the Giants squeeze in last year.
