I'm deciding between Dirk Nowitzki or David Robinson, but it seems like neither is likely to win here, I don't think. Someone should do a tally so far.

My top 5 rankings for who is next is this..

1. Dirk/Robinson
2. Robinson/Dirk
3. Barkley
4. Baylor
5. Barry

I'm actually considering putting Barry over Baylor.

Why because he won a championship in 1975?

If prime Baylor played in the league then instead of 15 years earlier, he'd have a title too.

Based on what?

What could you possibly have seen to conclude that?

Barry was a 36/9/5 player who led a team that swept Baylor and the Lakers out of the playoffs and made the finals...when he was in his second season. And by all accounts he was a much better all around player by the 70s.

Baylor may have been better...doesnt mean hes gonna win on Barrys team. Baylor spent his entire prime playing the Way Barry did early. Right down to amazing finals numbers on "WTf?" level field goal attempts. Dude put up 41ppg in the finals vs what was at the time(and may still be) the GOAT team. He had 38/8/7, 30/10, 55/12/5, 43/7, 36/10, and 44/6. He actually tied Baylors finals record for made shots...22.

He did pretty much exactly what Baylor did in the earlier 60s. Shoot so much it looks like a typo by our standards(he took 40 shots twice that series) and put up numbers.

If Barry does 36ppg in the late 60s why couldnt he break 40ppg in the early 60s?

I dont know that what they actually did justifies the "Well if Baylor were in his shoes" talk. Baylor had his shot. And the greenest light of all time. And a team good enough that Jerry West took it to the finals without him.

He lost like 3 game 7s by 5 or 6 total points. He went 6-22 in one of them before he had even fallen off. 6-22 in a 2 point game 7 loss.

What evidence is there that barry couldnt do better? The celtics were not unbeatable. Nobody stepped up to beat them till 67. Baylor had chance after chance.

Barry proved he could go into the "Well...we all know who is gonna win this...." series and come out on top. Not fair to him to just say Baylor has titles in his place when Baylor lost on the big stage like 8 times and Barry led multiple teams there and actually got it done against huge odds with a team half as talented as the opponent.

If you want to sell tickets go with Barkley. If you need a go to player go with Malone

Bird was Hybrid.... Magic was a Hybrid...They Just Happened to Have Great Teams and Teamates. And Malone NEVER APPEARED in the Play-Offs that is Stockton-To-Malone Dependancy. There isn`t any Skill in Basketball Other than FT Shooting that Malone was Better than Barkley at.

How come?

We have come to a point in the ranking list where its extremly difficult, sensitive and subjective to pick one guy and act like only that single guy should be infront without have anybody disagree with you.... as you can use Pettit, Barkley, Mikan, Dirk, Garnett, Robinson, Isiah Thomas, Baylor, Bob Cousy, Havlicek(?) and so on to be around this spot, not many will agree with your choice, as each and every of them have different criterias to go after...

Especially Barkley who in this case doesnt have a championship compared to those others (and Baylor), but has i feel advantage in his amazing & unique player talent/skill (i thoroughly saw his talent/skill compared to Baylor which i have seen zero game footage from except for the casual weird looking b&w jumpshot from him on youtube).... same goes for Baylor, but i went with Barkley as i dont have such big compassion for weaker eras (compared to the 80s-90s) with much higher pace & possessions and ofcourse lack of visual/witnessing knowledge of how good for example Baylor truly was.... i could go with simply Baylors accolades instead, but even then i feel those doesnt separate him either next to the MVP Barkley anyways...

As i said, confusing, hard, subjective... you name it..... At the end of it all, i feel Barkley has accomplished enough to to be here and that is at the end of it all my random choice to be honest.... there is a criteria, but i mostly picked him because i had to pick one of them... :) I wont feel weird about any of those guy landing a spot here... they all deserved it in different criterias, shapes and forms...
