A GK should rally his defenders, he is the one who has to keep them disciplined, that is what a great GK does. GOAT keeper Oliver Kahn could restore the whole team and not only the defenders' morale/will/determination/focus with one of his infamous yells. A mute keeper will never have a great role in defense, at best he/she would be a good goalie.

I'm not talking about mute keepers, you can motivate your teammates in different ways than some tourette rants. Neuer's overaggressivesness seems out of place sometimes. Especially when he was a fault for the goal himself and starts a rant. I think he's trying his Kahn impersonation too hard.
Kahn was great, but alot of teammates disliked him actually.

GK is a special post and as a footballer you never want to confront your goalie even if he is just venting over his own mistake. You give the goalie a break cause many a times he is gonna be the difference between a win or a loss.

I know that, defenders and GKs are very dependant on each other and that's why defenders don't try to get in the way of the goalie.
But some GKs get in the way of the defenders and it might **** them up mentally. If they start playing shitty because of that it will always come back at the goalkeeper, because coaches and GKs are the guys who are blamed the most for losses.
If you talk down on your defenders they might lose confidence. Never digged that. Always tried to motivate them instead.

City got bailed out so bad, they would have had 0 points from two games otherwise

lmao @ Liverpool

Coates might be a double agent, it looked like he tried to score that into his own net

His team sucks but Joe Allen is incredible, he never loses the ball and plays so intelligently, I really think he's one of the best midfielders in the world, he's wasted up in that shitty team.

Default Re: 2012/2013 UEFA Champions League Thread

Rodgers can coach. Once he figures out that his team is better suited to 4-4-2 or at least realizes that Borini is not a wide piece in a 4-3-3, they'll turn a corner.

Once he realizes that Coates, despite his apparent gaffe today, is right now better than Skrtel and is necessary for Liverpool's defense, as he can actually coordinate the line, then they'll turn another corner. If they realize that Reina was never that good to begin with, then

A waste of Suarez to have him there. At least if they had a guy like Walcott playing off the right (who should be playing the wing the way CRon plays it and not the way Wenger plays him).

Also, Allen has to get more freedom to play up the field. With no Lucas, pick someone else to play there. But someone needs to play DM.

BTW Lloris sucked today. Did nothing to help himself win a starting spot. Friedel>Lloris by a mile.
