It seems to me that the Clips are alot like the Suns back then they got a great PG and an extremely athlethic PF its like Nash and Stat, I still remember when Stat was super athletic like Griffin dunkin on people loved the one where he killed Tolliver. Just seems to me like Clips and Suns teams are same.
There are some similarities but I wouldnt say a lot. Clippers are a slower paced, physical team which isn't what the Suns were. The things they do have in common is an elite PG/PF combo, superb depth and an ability to drop points like nobody else. Last year the Clippers led the NBA.in double digit comebacks. They were the 1st ranked offense with Billups too. 4 threes in a minute, 27 point comeback... No other team did that kind of stuff last year.
On the downside like the Suns the Clippers players seem to take very.little pride.in their defense.
TBH if mike D antoni coached the clips CP3 would also adapt a run n gun style of play so to say nash and cp3 have different style may not be spot on coaching has alot of input on how they play. Shawn marion hmm can carom butler stand in for matrix overall i really loved the Suns back then i think they were the highest rated team in the nba live 07 90+ overall rating.
The Clippers are one of the slowest teams in the league when it comes to tempo. Paul like others said holds the ball. He's like a surgeon on the floor. Griffin is already ahead of Amare after 2 seasons. It's a very unselfish ball club. They have enough depth that any one of 8-9 guys can contribute or score (get hot) easily.
Prime Nash > CP3
Prime Amare > Blake Griffin
Prime Marion > Anyone else on the Clippers
The run and gun Suns were just exciting as f*ck to watch... practically every game was 100+ points, often 110+. No matter what team they were playing against, they usually made it fast paced and memorable. So many close games. The double OT game against the Mavericks was the most exciting game I've ever seen in my life.
