In my opinion this spot should be between Havlicek, Pettit, and Dirk.

I'm going to vote for Havlicek.

Same thing, any of those 3 choices makes sense.

I'll eliminate Havlicek because he appears to have been less of a cornerstone throughout his career. He was a major part of the later Cs success, but he wasn't the centerpiece, the player the team was built around.

This leaves Pettit and Dirk... I'm always going back and forth between those two - not being very coherent here.

They have somewhat comparable resumes... Pettit has one more MVP (but one was in the mid 50s...) while Dirk has had more longevity (Pettit only played 11 seasons, Dirk has already had 14 and probably has two good years left in him).
Pettit appears to have been a better rebounder and defender, whereas Dirk is a more efficient and effective scorer adjusting for pace and competition.

Hmm... I'll vote Dirk. I think if you exchanged the two players, their accomplishments might still look similar, but Dirk would fare better in the 50s (not necessarily in the 60s though) than Pettit in the 00s. It's a weak argument but the only one I can think of to distinguish between them.

1958 NBA Finals - Game 6
With a little more than 20 seconds to play, Pettit drove on Russell, stopped and arched a shot over the clawing grasp of the Celtic captain for the basket that gave the Hawks a 108-105 lead. But Tom Heinsohn made two foul shots with 16 second left to cut it to 108-107. With the Boston defense converging on Pettit, Slater Martin tried a set shot that missed, but Pettit somehow fought his way through the mob of Celtics around him to tap the ball in and make a final Celtic field goal meaningless. Pettit had scored 50 points, including 18 of the Hawks' final 21 points and gained sweet revenge from the Hawks' 1957 NBA Finals loss.
Did not know this, 18 of the last 21 points
We keep hearing about Wilt's 40+ FGA games against 6'9 centers in regular season games instead...

For the 5th time now...

Bob Pettit

And for the umpteenth time:

Can one of you who have continued to vote for Isiah Thomas since #14 please explain why he was greater than players #14-#19, Bob Pettit, David Robinson, Havlicek, and Dirk?

Bob Pettit - You could argue that had Russell not been injured, Pettit might not have put on a good show that '58 finals. Still dominant though and a good player, and could make an argument against Zeke
David Robinson - Getting poor Playoff results pre-Duncan doesn't help a lot. He was an excellent, mobile center and a good franchise guy though.
Havlicek - Him and Zeke are interchangable to me to be honest.
Dirk - His defense and other things can be a glaring issue at times (passing and rebounding mainly), but still a good franchise guy.

Not gonna lie, a huge part of this is bias. Zeke's one of my favorite players so that might cloud my judgement. Oh, and voting for him helps the goal of spamming my video.
